Edgewood Assisted Living was a large wood frame assisted living facility that consisted of a one-story community space and two three-story residence wings. The automatic sprinkler system consisted of five zones. Two wet zones to protect occupied space, and three dry zones to protect concealed combustible attic space above community and residence areas. A combination of schedule 7 and 10 steel piping and CPVC piping were used. All wet zones and one dry zone were controlled from the fire sprinkler riser room, with 2 remote dry valves for attic space above residence wings. The main level was protected by one wet zone, and the second level pendents and third level sidewall sprinklers fed from the second wet system.
